Optum and Quest Diagnostics announced their partnership in a press release Sept.13, 2016. Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, Quest Diagnostics is administering UnitedHealthcare's Worksite Wellness Health Screening Solutions program.
Offered to our Commercial market, the program is an employer-sponsored biometrics screening available to eligible employees, spouses and dependents. Participants may receive incentives for completing the screening and may also receive incentives for certain biometric results.
UnitedHealthcare members, who are your patients, may ask you to complete and sign a Quest Diagnostics-branded Physician Results Form with the results of their biometric screenings. Please continue to use network laboratory resources for any lab work you may order.
These questions and answers are designed to provide you with additional information on UnitedHealthcare's Worksite Wellness Health Screening Solutions program.
This program is administered on UnitedHealthcare's behalf by Quest Diagnostics. Although Quest Diagnostics is administering the screening program (which was previously administered by multiple vendors), you should continue to use network laboratory resources for any lab work you order.
Quest Diagnostics began administering the program for UnitedHealthcare Commercial members on Jan. 1, 2017. Employers who offer the screening will switch to Quest Diagnostics on their plan or incentive program renewal date.
Onsite Screening: Member attends event at place of employment with services provided by Quest Diagnostics.
At-Home Kit: Member receives a kit by mail, completes screening, and returns kit; lab test is processed by Quest Diagnostics.
Lab Patient Service Center Visit: Member gets a biometric screening at any of Quest Diagnostics' nationwide patient service centers. The encounter is NOT run through the medical benefit and does not produce a claim.
Physician Results Form: Member accesses and prints this form through the biometric screening registration site. Member visits their care provider, who completes and signs the form documenting the completed lab results. The visit to the care provider and to any lab that provider may refer the member to are run through the medical benefit and the medical benefit rules apply.
Please continue to send samples to a network lab. Although it is the member's responsibility to verify a lab's network status in the provider directory, we encourage you to guide members to network labs. Your ability to recommend, refer, include or use an out-of-network lab may be restricted by their contract and/or UnitedHealthcare's protocols.
To increase efficiency, UnitedHealthcare sought a single vendor partner that could deliver screening services directly to our employer group customers. Quest Diagnostics was selected based on their ability to deliver on all four options.
